The Anne Arundel County Volunteer

Center needs YOUR story!

In celebration of 15 years of building a better community through service, the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Center will proudly share stories about the people, events and special moments that have shaped the Volunteer Center.

If you submit your story before February 3, you will automatically be entered in our Special gift card drawing.  There will be 5 people selected to win iTunes gift cards, restaurant gift cards, and much more!  In addition, your story may be selected as one of our 15 for 15!  To be selected you must include how your story also connects to the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Center.  The deadline for all stories and photos is February 12.

So, take some time to think about where, what, and with whom you have volunteered; do some soul searching if necessary!  Then, simply click below to fill out the survey, submit your picture and get back to volunteering!

Homeless Resource Day

SATURDAY, APRIL 9, 2016

Anne Arundel County’s Ninth Annual Homeless Resource Day is at Brooklyn Park Middle School, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.  This is a “one-day, one stop” opportunity for individuals and families experiencing homelessness to access benefits, medical care, substance use resources and mental health counseling intake as well as a variety of social services which can ultimately lead to housing and self-sufficiency.

 Why Participate as a volunteer?

The community’s support has been, and will continue to be, an important part of our effort to address the issues confronting homeless individuals and families.  Be a part of this initiative in the fight to eliminate homelessness – one that’s been very successful in cities across the country.
