CENTRO DE AYUDA (CENTER OF HELP) -- TUTORS

Centro de Ayuda (Center of Help) needs volunteers to tutor children.

The mission of the Center of Help is to promote self-sufficiency and the successful integration of the immigrant Hispanic population into the greater community of Anne Arundel County.  To support that mission, they need volunteers to tutor children in English, reading, and math; to teach English as a second language to adults; and to act as social services advocates.

You do not need to be bilingual.  If you do not speak Spanish, they will pair you with someone who is bilingual.  They especially need tutors who can help on Saturdays.

In addition, they are looking for teaching assistants for classes in English as a Second Language (ESOL).  The teaching assistants would assist the primary instructors by working with small groups to help with planned lessons.

This is a wonderful organization that can really use your help.  For more information, visit their website at www.centrodeayuda.org.

If you are interested, please to provide a brief statement of your qualifications and relevant background for this volunteer opportunity.
