PARTNERS IN CARE -- CASHIER

Partners In Care is looking for volunteer experienced cashiers to help them in their Boutique on Ritchie Highway in Pasadena.  The Boutique sells gently used clothing and household items to support their non-profit activities.  The Boutique is transitioning to an automated terminal type cash register with touch entry capability for selecting items and applying discounts and gift cards (no bar coding).  Familiarity with this type of system (or similar) and familiarity with processing credit cards is strongly desired.  Shifts are Tuesday through Saturday – 10-1, 1-4, and 4-6.  Volunteers can apply for one or more shifts per week but consistency is appreciated.

Partners In Care, a 501(c)3 community nonprofit, was founded 20 years ago to help older adults remain independent in their own homes.  The organization has more than 2,600 members who are engaged in a unique culture of time exchange, neighbors helping neighbors.  Using this service-exchange model, people contribute their time and talents to the ‘community pool’ to accomplish requested tasks.  Every person is asked to participate to become part of the solution.  In this way, assets already in the community are identified and utilized, accomplishing more than in traditional models.  And, as a result, people are empowered to remain independent.  Their website is
