CENTRO DE AYUDA (CENTER OF HELP) -- ESOL INSTRUCTORS
Centro de Ayuda (Center of Help) needs volunteers to teach English as a Second Language (ESOL) and to tutor children.
The mission of the Center of Help is to promote self-sufficiency and the successful integration of the immigrant Hispanic population into the greater community of Anne Arundel County. To support that mission, they need volunteers to tutor children in English, reading, and math; to teach English as a second language to adults; and to act as social services advocates.
You do not need to be bilingual. If you do not speak Spanish, they will pair you with someone who is bilingual. You can be a primary instructor or an assistant (to handle subsets of the class). The ESOL classes are scheduled as follows and are held at the Gardner Center on Forest Drive in Annapolis:
Mondays 10:30-12:00
Tuesdays 10:30-12:00
3:30-5:00
Wednesdays 10:30-12:00
Thursdays 10:30-12:00
3:30-5:00
Fridays 10:30-12:00
This is a wonderful organization that can really use your help. For more information, visit their website at www.centrodeayuda.org.
